A lifelong textiles man, James graduated with a degree in Chemistry prior to starting his working career at Halley Stevensons in Dundee, a company with a long and distinguished heritage of textile dyeing and finishing.

James worked his way up from the trainee dyer, moving through the ranks and spending years building an in depth understanding of the processes involved in dyeing and waxing cotton, experience that is vital in his role today. Recently returned to Halley Stevensons as Managing Director, James is passionate about continuing and developing Halley Stevensons manufacturing heritage, now one of the last remaining textile dyers and finishers in the UK.

Halley Stevensons exports its unique waxed products globally and much of James’ time is now spent creating innovative products in new emerging and existing markets.
